What it is, what it is, what it is, shed no tears. The one & only Aphro Dynamek is back again with the sweet sounds for all your beatdowns! After the jump, find out what track catches a little spin this month...
If you've never heard him before, allow me to introduce you to one of the more gifted lyricists you'll ever enjoy: Tech N9ne. This song is off his 2012 album, All 6s' and 7's, featuring the the talents of both Hopsin & B.o.B. Personally, I love how demented this track is. We all have a 'freak flag' that we may or may not fly high for all to see, but that isn't something this song worries about. Every twisted desire & impulse is laid bare on full display here. Whether or not you care to accept any of that isn't their problem. I can respect that kind of confidence.
Now, I sometimes have trouble trying to decide which character a song justifiably fits. (Mind you, all of these Anthems articles are simply my opinion.) While I always make sure the track in question is hype & aggressive enough, finding just the right FG character isn't always the easiest thing to do. However, this is one of the few songs on my Active Playlist -- as of this article, 3,844 songs -- that immediately reminds me of someone... or rather, something.
There are very few characters that embody the idea of crazy better than Arakune from the BlazBlue series. I didn't just choose him because of his randomized, unpredictable appearence, FGC faithful. No, I chose him because he is textbook crazy. Now, when I say "textbook crazy", I mean he's crazy in the sense that nothing he does and/or says seems crazy to him, despite the fact that the rest of the world sees him as a gibbering, cackling, incoherent blob of sentient tar & effluence. Let's be honest with ourselves: If you saw something that looked like Old Squiggly here ooze its way upto you & started trying to communicate in that nigh unintelligible speech pattern he has about him, you'd probably start screaming while either trying to clobber it with the nearest blunt object or beg for someone to take it away through your tears. All the while, HE would be wondering what the hell was wrong with YOU.
Now, in his defense, it wasn't always like that for him. Originally, he was a man named Lotte Carmine a.k.a. 'Roy'. He was a member of Sector Seven, working together with a few other familiar faces including a young Litchi Faye-Ling. (Believe it or not, that's actually him on the right in the linked pic.) During his time there, he developed a crippling inferiority complex & an unhealthy obsession with the Boundary. I won't go into all the sordid details because that's what Story Mode is for, but as you can clearly see... it didn't end well for him.
Until next time... keep fighting the good fight, my friends.
